Cardinal at Diamondhead Country Club
About
The 18-hole Cardinal at Diamondhead Country Club, half of a 36-hole layout on the property, is a semi-private course that opened in 1979.
Designed by Earl Stone, the golf course measures 6,831 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 132 and a 72.7 USGA rating. The course features four sets of tees for different skill levels.
The major challenges for both golf courses are their tree-lined fairways. The Cardinal Course is wooded and was built on gently rolling terrain. It has no parallel fairways and extra-long sand bunkers.

Diamondhead Pine Course
The course was really well taken care of. Some bald spots here and there, but for the value was great for the money
Great condition. Staff needs service training. (Cardinal course) May 2023
Greens were in good shape and rolled well. A few patches of algae and dead grass. Fairways were smooth and cut. Rough wasn’t too high. Bring a rangefinder or app. No yardage on sprinkler heads.
Looked at reviews prior to booking and did not see anything about the range and chipping greens being closed in general or Mondays. Arrived an hour early and told range was closed. Girl working the desk was not knowledgeable. Had to ask the guys in the back office. Her line of questions also didn’t flow and offered no directions to the first hole, grille, or anything golf related. Asked if I was a member after I told her I booked GolfNow. Told me to pay after seeing my GolfNow reservation. Then asked if it was my first time but didn’t offer any direction or guidance.
Bathrooms are filthy, sink faucets need replacement, and a little brightening up. If there was a grille I have no idea how to access it. No cart girl. Two fives ones of members in front of us with their own carts. One was a complete dbag. Lady Starter was nice and allowed us off early. Get rid of the cart agreement— add the verbiage to the tee booking. Very cheap and petty.
Bayou bub
The pine is a nice course but play the cardinal. Diamond head is a 1st class property
Play it!
I played the cardinal and the pines course, both are in great shape. The cardinal is the nicest layout of the two
Great time
Course in great shape really enjoyed our Round and a friendly staff
Excellent course
Beautiful course! Greens were phenomenal We will definitely play again when we are in the area.
Only complaint is that there is no layout on the scorecards or on the signs at each hole. Besides that we loved it.
Nice playing partners and friendly staff. . All good.
Cardinal course
Loved our round. We just happened to book a condo just off the course. Watched every morning as the crew took their pains to ready the course. Attention to detail is important. First time I have noted crew rolling green and checking for moister. Bunkers were cleaned and raked. I would definitely recommend the course.
Great Layout
Hole 1 was under repair, but other than that Course was great. Look forward to playing the other course as well
good value
green were great. fairways where a little wet and weedy.
Cardinal course
Beautiful golf course even after an 1-1/2” of rain night before, course was in great shape. Awesome wood carvings in numerous locations around the course. Would highly recommend! Great food in restaurant.
