Pace of play was great for a Saturday. Course is getting better as Summer gets closer.
Tough to see
Hate to see how bad this course has gotten. Greens on Pines basically dirt. Such a good layout. I hope they get it back in shape.
Good value
Winter conditions- meh. Fairways littered with leaves. Greens lacking grass. Having said that, overall a good day. Pro shop was as friendly as I've experienced along the golf coast including high end courses like craft farms and Peninsula. I'd leave negative feedback for their pro shop and starter staff (Craft Farms). This was the first time playing Timber Creek, and for the money I'll come back. If you're used to a muni course in other cities this will be good for you. If you are used to higher end resort courses don't set your expectations to high and you'll have fun. But, everyone has an opinion and...
Always fun here course condition is just average typical of January Cart paths are awful but you know that when you come
Could be great!
Love the course and layout but it needs lots of work. Great people running things, really enjoyed playing.
Nice Facility
Nice golf facility but not the greatest of conditions. Traps had little or no sand. Greens were okay.
Golf staff staff was accommodating.
Layout of the course is fun to play. Will play again in the future.
Good place tomolay
Nice courteous employees. Course was in good shape. The only problem. Was the bunkers (fairway and green side bunkers. Majority of the bunkers the condition were hard and texture was inconsistent.
Greens were fairly fast . Fair course. Well worth playing .
Terrible equipment
The cart paths are garbage you better strap you clubs on and check several times. I have snapped a driver here. My cart had a flat tire and would not start every time the course has potential but they are not spending the money to bring it back. The sand traps are hard clay no maintenance.
Not going to bash it
Look- This used to be a helluva track. It now looks like they just don't have the maintenance staff to work the grounds. Bunkers washed out and need sand. Good sand. Lots of leaves that need to be either picked up or blown into appropriate areas. The greens are not in great shape, but are certainly puttable. Some of my friends and I occasionally drive over from Pensacola when we get bored with our home track, but we'd come over more often for a better maintained course. The layout of the courses is excellent and well designed. Put money and basic man-power in and get this place back to where it used to be. If the owners want to manage on "the edge of profits"- good luck. Bottom line: I'll play it again, but hire some grunts and get those leaves up, and fix your bunkers.
Nice folks.
Sand was like hard pan, green were inconsistent, but great value.
Golf with my Sons
Other than it being cold, I couldn't have asked for a better outing. It was my last chance to play a round with my next to youngest son before he leaves for the Air Force. We were joined by 2 of my other sons and had a great time. We even managed to hit a few good shots.
The course has benefited somewhat from recent rains...unfortunately it rained so hard that sand has washed out of some bunkers. All bunkers have extremely hard-packed sand. Of course I managed to gain first-hand knowledge of several!!
GREAT COURSE
Course was in good shape even with the lack of rain in August and September!!
great course for money
played on hot deal, But have played here numerous times at normal rate and the Value is well worth the drive! Course is in very good shape and the greens are very well maintained. Staff is always friendly and welcoming and with 3 9s pace of play is well managed. the rolling hills are a nice change to flat courses and add to the challenge. I would love to see the cart paths and wooden areas refreshed and bring this back to its once amazing state along with some pest control damage to a few tee boxes ( maybe knee high fence to keep out the armadillos?)
