Eagle Springs Golf Course
About
Eagle Springs Golf Course (formerly known as DeFuniak Springs Country Club) is Walton County's oldest course and one of the panhandle area's most challenging. The golf course sprawls across rolling hills covered with pine forests and five spring-fed lakes, both of which come into play throughout the course. Sandy scrub brush and colorful flowering bushes accent the landscape even further. The towering trees lining the tight fairways are just some of the many challenging natural hazards. There are also 23 strategically placed sand traps throughout. The small, elevated greens are pitched and undulated in such a manner that would make even the best putters nervous. The rolling elevations also provide picturesque views from nearly every point on golf course. Eagle Springs Golf Course requires accuracy and careful course management, but the layout is still surprisingly accessible for a range of skill levels. As part of recent initiatives and upgrades to the property and management, kids under 15 play free.

Improvements have been great
The improvements to this course have been really nice. The clearing of all the undergrowth between holes had certainly added to the aesthetics. A few of the greens could still use a little TLC, but overall the course is a lot of fun. I miss #10 and hope by the end of summer we can be back on it. It is one of the most challenging holes on the course.
Please finish and improve the range
Put up the net for long balls. Reorganize and improve the range yardage signs. See Hurlburt golf range for possibilities. Please offer fresh good cold sandwiches and limited grilling capability. DeFuniak eagle springs golf course memberships should offer reciprocal green fees with other similar golf courses such as the Crestview blackwater, eglin Air Force Base. And Blackstone imossy Head.
Horrible Conditions
Not worth $35. Tee boxes aren’t good, fairways are bad, greens are great. This would be good if it was a putt putt course
You get what you pay for
Looks like they are working on improvements, but this course needs a lot of love especially the second nine, 80 % of the greens are good thats the good news, the rest not so good. Do not spend time or money, play elsewhere
Nice Course!!
Very nice course and it’s forever improving..This course is easily becoming one of my favorites!
Busy Eagle
So many improvements vs. 3 years ago. The course is in far better condition and actually looks like a golf course now. Beautiful views throughout the course. Had to wait 20 minimum for a cart and had to wait a few times to tee off. All in all the pace of play was good but don’t expect to squeeze in a quick round anymore like past days, especially on the weekend. Parking was also scarce, a-lot of overflow spots.
Too many Repairs
Played this course in the past and really liked it. They have made significant improvements over the last several years. The only problem I had the other day was the number of holes being repaired at the same time. They might be just as well off to close for a month or so and complete the jobs. There was one hole completely closed and several holes with alternative tee boxes in play. While I appreciate the effort to improve the course, it was not the course I was expecting to play.
Extremely poor course conditions
This course was by far the worst course I’ve ever played. Not even worth the $35 for 18 holes and a cart and that’s saying something. Tee boxes were dirt and weeds. Fairway were dry as a bone and barely any grass on them.. Would never go back.
Course is coming along
Greens looked great and played the fastest I've ever played. Can't wait to see what the course looks like a year from now! Keep up the good work.
Don't Waste Your Money
Tee boxes were either being closed for construction or needed to be rebuilt. The grass in the fairways was minimal at best and the greens needed to be redone. other than that it was perfect
Course was way overpriced for the condition! It was almost unplayable on half the holes. Wouldn’t play again!
A lot of construction going on
Some holes weren't playable because of construction.. Greens are aweful. They are very small and all elevated.
They were sprayed green to hide the blemishes. When we got there the lady in the pro shop said we had to have carts in before 5:00 whether it was still light out or not. The sun sets around 5:30 this time of year. There was no mention of that when you made your tee times however.
There are a lot of other nice courses you can play. They have a lot of work to do at this place, and I'm not talking just about the course itself.
Challenging course under construction will be above when complete a lot of work going on still everyone was friendly and helpful enjoyed the round recommend playing the course
Veteran
This will be a much better course once the construction is complete. Keep working to get it done
