Club at Hidden Creek, The
About
The Club at Hidden Creek is one of northwest Florida's most treasured courses. Opened in 1988, it is still relatively young but it has built its reputation on it its well manicured greens and lush landscaping. A few years after opening, a local newspaper ranked it the best golf course in northwest Florida. The course features tree-lined fairways that tumble across scenic rolling terrain. The challenging golf course once served as a host site for the US Open Qualifying Rounds. Water hazards come into play as well as several strategically placed bunkers. Although seasoned golfers are kept on their toes, the layout is more still approachable thank to four different sets of tees. The Club at Hidden Creek has a longstanding reputation amongst the local community and many would consider a visit to the Emerald Coast incomplete without it.

My Review of The Club At Hidden Creek
I was hassled by the marshal in the middle of my round for walking on the course even though I called the club before my round on the same day and was told by a woman on the phone that walking is allowed. Sad.
I guess the club has a policy that only members are allowed to walk, which I can understand, but I don't believe anyone told me that before my round.
I don't like the way I was treated by the marshall on the course. He was treating me like a criminal in the middle of my round. He was questioning me and relaying information on his walkie talkie as I stood by him. I stood with him for like 5 minutes (maybe more than 5 minutes) in the middle of my round, because I was walking on the course. Plus, I was a single with a twosome in front of me, and I was right on their tail. I don't believe I as a single was causing a massive traffic jam behind me on the course with poor pace of play. My pace, in my opinion, was fine, but a little slower without a cart.
That is my worst experience ever with a marshall.
The woman working in the pro shop who worked with me before my round was upbeat and friendly, and the course was in pretty good condition, but parts were wet and soggy. Also, 1 par 5 was reduced to a par 3.
The course was pretty good, but I recommend golfing somewhere else.
Not up to standard for this course
This is my favorite course in the Pensacola/ Navarre area.
However today the number one handicapp hole, par 5 was under construction
And the temporary t box made it a par 3
The staff did not mention this when we signed up To play and there was no adjustment to the
Greens fee.
Due to heavy rain the revious week, the sand traps were mostly flooded and there was much standing water ( lakes) in the fairways.
Much of this is unavoidable but players should be forewarned and adjust green fees

Nice course, great clubhouse. Greens in great shape, very consistent. Almost all of the fairways were in excellent condition, even in winter. Staff was very friendly and enjoyed our twosome.
Fivesomes rule the day
Fivesomes are very common at H C and no playing through allowed
Heaven help the single or others who are used to continuous play
The marshalls are totally ineffective when it comes to keeping groups moving and they can usually be found looking for golf balls
I’m done with this course until I get in the mood for a 5 hour round in 90 degree weather
Need professional marshals
Pace of play is terrible specially when members monopolize the course on Tuesday and Thursday
I usually avoid those days however when I played on a Wednesday there was the same problem.
On that day there were 2 fivesomes not only slowing the pace of play but tearing up the course including driving on the greens and through sand traps.
The marshalls are not paid but comped with free play and aren't trained in how to confront slow play or rule breakers. When we pointed out the slow play and lack of respect by these 10 mprons, the Marshall got mad at us. Very bad management
I won't be going back anytime soon. And by the way, the green fees are the highest in northwest Florida
I wish I had taken a photo to upload here.
Meh
Ok layout. Zero water on back nine. Front nine is better than back. But still only a three star course
Hi, thank you so much for leaving us with your feedback. We value our customer experience, so your review is important to us. We will make note and we hope to see you back at The Club at Hidden Creek!
Great course
The greens were very fast and receptive and course is really challenging..
Hidden Jewel Should Be the Course Name
I play this course when I’m at the coast. I fear the word getting out on this jewel. Had rained for three days non-stop but sand based fairways and greens drained quickly and were remarkably playable.
Too many golfers booked in a few hours
Hidden Creek has been a favorite course until recently. Water issues consume several holes. Major construction has bottle-necked two holes. These things are unavoidable. Booking too many golfers within a two hour period is avoidable but they continue to do this. The golfing experience has become unpleasant. Finishing 18 holes in 3-4 hrs. Is unlikely. Unfortunate!
Hello, thank you for taking the time to review our course, The Club at Hidden Creek. We appreciate your dedication to playing our course over the years but are very sorry to hear your recent experience with us may have been poor due to the course conditions and pace of play. We greatly value your feedback as we work towards making the necessary improvements to the course and our golfer's overall experience with us. We hope you will notice some of these improvements during your next round with us. Thank you for choosing our course, and we hope to see you again soon.
best course in the area
The only negative during the round was the work done on # 7 &8. The adjustment for the work did not harm the round.
Enjoyable Course
it's December, so things are not perfect but very playable. Greens are slick but very true, bunkers are all raked nicely, rough is playable, some tee boxes are very thin. Course is a little muddy in some places from lots of rain but they do their best to keep carts away. Good Day
Great course
First time playing here. Really nice lay out and greens great shape. I will be playing there again
Great course
The course marshals need to make sure the players are keeping pace of play. I don't think that boom boxes should be allowed on the course at all!
Someone at the pro shop voluntarily handed me a cart key.
I didn’t ask for a cart key or a cart, and I didn't say that I was going to use a cart.
I accepted the key after golfing at a different course and using a cart on the back nine after walking on the front 9.
The woman at the Hidden Creek pro shop did not tell me that I couldn’t walk the course. That is true.
I didn’t tell the woman at the pro shop that I was going to walk when I was in the pro shop, though.
I didn’t think telling her that I was going to walk was necessary after I called earlier that day and was told that walking is allowed.
I am sorry to hear about your bad experience with one of our course marshals and we apologize for that. We strive to make it enjoyable for everyone that comes out here, and we failed to do that with you. I have received all the facts and have addressed the issues with the staff. However, you did fail to mention that the pro shop attendant charge you the normal rate that includes a cart and gave you a cart key. Also, you told the marshal that "the pro shop attendant did not say I couldn't walk" and you then returned the cart key that she gave you to the marshal after your conversation with him. We also let you continue to walk the remainder of your round. I wish you would have come into the pro shop when you made the turn and I could have rectified the situation then. Again, we are sorry for your bad experience and please feel free to call me directly if you have any other questions or issues. Jamie O'Connor, Golf Operations Manager, (850) 939-4904.
