Give me a brake!
We really like this course, mainly because of it's very, very hilly layout. Just one problem. Of the 4 carts we've used so far, none had proper parking brakes. It's hard to find a level place to park.
Excitingly Hilly
Best to take a cart. Course makes you zero in on your target. Greens are faster than most. Enjoyed it. Best score I had in a while.
Great layout
The course Wes not in as good condition as I had anticipated , but was truly a $25.00 course.
Lost Some Balls
Scenic course with lots of hills. Nice variety of holes. Gold tees are a little long for seniors; silver are a little short. Fairly well manicured for February play in Florida.
Good value
Friendly staff. Interesting course layout. Get a cart as there's a lot of distance from green to the next tee on many holes.
A challenging course!
What a beautiful course! Surprising hilly, especially for Florida. Only knock were the restrooms on the course itself.... no lights, no windows. Skylights were probably once sufficient but now dirty and unkept. If you like a hot dog at the turn, bring your own. At each of Eglin's two 18 hole courses, the ninth does not end at the clubhouse, you just continue to the tenth. I've never seen that before and that is fine unless you're hungry!
Great Course!
This course is set up well for people who can keep their drives within 5-7 yards of the fairway. Further than that offline will result in the loss of several golf balls during the round, as mishit balls frequently are claimed by wait-a-bit bramble bushes and or boggy bottoms. (Between my son and I we contributed 8 new golf balls to the course).
The greens were in excellent shape, and a delight to play upon.
Eagle was closed!
Didn't play the Eagle. It was closed due to storm damage. Played the Falcon. It was fine.
Fun, interesting and unusual
We played the Falcon course. It was fun but because it's unusual you will learn so much about the course that you will want to play it again. It is a very steep hilly layout with a lot of blind doglegs. You won't want to walk. All this sounds intimidating, but if you enjoy golf the second round will be really cool. We played in mid Feb. but the course was in pretty good shape. The carts are old and not in good shape and no gps, if you are used to that. Be sure to have some snacks and drinks with you because there is no club house at the turn. That's weird. The disappointing part of the experience was checking in at the counter. This particular person was very unfriendly and not helpful at all. However, the rest of the staff was great. But, don't forget, I did say it was a nice day of golf.
Falcon Course
Challenging hilly course, but is very playable for the amateur from the greens....
Good day to be outside
Course played great for feb. 3 staff was very friendly hope to play it again while in the area
Poorly maintained
Other than the greens rolling fairly well on the Falcon course, the course was not properly maintained at all. So far this has been my worst golfing experience over the last three years.
