Eglin AFB Golf Course - Falcon

The reason I gave 4 stars to course conditions is there were a couple of greens that had some problems. Everything else was in great shape. Very good value for the course. I play this one every time I go on vacation in Destin.

Old course and accuracy is a plus! I've played the Eagle and find it easier. The Falcon is fun and now that some local knowledge ie.... Greens and their undulations and overall small size, will allow for better club selections. Bermuda grass greens are much slower to pace. It is worth a couple of rolls to find the right
speed. I would recommend both courses to most anyone who likes hilly conditions and great views!!!!

I moved from Pennsylvania and have lived in Fl for 14 years now. I played about 25 different courses here over the years, but never encountered a course so close to many I played in Pa before. This layout has more elevation changes than most northern courses, let alone a Fl one. The length of 6800 yds, blue tees or 6100 yds white tees, and varied sizes and slopes of the greens made for a challenging round. I will be back again, just the views were worth the price

It was the golf game from hadesl. Took us over 5 hours to play this course. I believe they overbooked this course or else the Marshalls did not monitor play.

Absolutely horrible game of golf. I would have left after 9 holes, but my playing partners kept saying that it had to get better. What a joke

Haven't played the Falcon course in years. I forgot what a really good challenge it is. Will play it and the Eagle again soon.

The only reason I didnt give the course condition 5 stars is because the greens had been aerated a few days before and were a little rough. But other than that it is a great golf course. While the hazards and bunkers make it challenging, the fairways are wide and forgiving. Definitely a great course to play for any skill level!

Talked to the Eglin Pro Shop prior to booking a tee time through Golf Now. They said the Falcon Course greens had just been aerated and were not in best condition. Played with my regular playing partner and we were both amazed at how great the greens were compared to other courses in the Fort Walton Beach, Shalimar, Destin area. This course, in Niceville, is far enough away from the coast it is very hilly. A very different look from all the other courses in the area.

The Falcon course is the more challenging of Eglin's two course (Eagle/Falcon). There are some fairly long carries over deep gullies and a lot of up hill, side hill lies to contend with. Beautiful day, good course condition (w/exception of a couple of greens). Highly recommend this course.

WOW! The only word I can use to describe the hilly terrain of this course. I certainly didn't expect to see this much elevation change from tee to greens on a Florida course. We played the Falcon and the greens had just been aerated and sanded so I can't rate the greens. It you are reading this, play the Eagle until May 27th when those greens will be aerated. These courses are a great value for what you pay thru Golfnow.com. The bearded dude who checked us in was a little rude but the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Good layout. Played after much rain and course was not soft. Play was fast. Lots of sand and water. Forced carries on several holes.

Great course. Needs some Spring work, but excellent layout. Never knew flat FL could be so hilly!

The Falcon is more difficult than the Eagle. The course is in transition period from winter rye to spring Bermuda grass. Lots of undulation both on the fairways and greens.
Will play it again.

The course is very challenging. The holes are very hilly which is unusual for Florida. The people are very friendly and accommodating . Recommend it highly for the scenic course that it is.

There is excellent terrain on this course, which is different from most Florida courses.

For those used to flat terrain, this course most interesting feature is how hilly it is. Good and challenging. It is a great test of skills.

This course was very hilly. it is not what you expect from a Florida course. I'm from Louisville and this course reminds me a lot of Charlie Vetner, narrow fairways and tree line on both sides. You definitely have to manage this course, which does not favor first time playing it. The greens were dry and very fast. must have been the recent weather, because all the courses we played this week were the same. The $20 deal from Golfnow was the only good thing i can say about this course.

The course is always in good shape, and has every kind of challenge a course can present. There are only a couple of holes that are straight and short. The hills and waste areas makes you bring your long and accurate game. I enjoy playing this course a lot.

terrific course - long and difficult - hilly and lots of sidehill or downhill lies - very good greens, fast and true. A real pleasure to play.

We arrived and were surprised to see the rolling hills of the course, as we played we realized the course was the best we had played so far in the area. The difficulty of the course was challenging to say the least. We were paired up with someone who had played before which was a huge advantage as we had an idea of where to hit. The greens were not in great shape, but for this time of year cannot expect more. The fairways were startingto green up I think this course must be absolutely great in prime time golf season

Granted we only payed $18 to play thanks to the Golfnow hot buy and maybe it was because the weather wasnt the greatest that day but im really not sure I would ever play this course again. The whole course was brown and ugly. Couldnt tell the difference between the fairway,the fringe or the green. They really need to pay attention to this course like they do their other course(The Eagle).
