Oak Harbor Golf Club
About
Situated just 25 minutes outside of New Orleans, Oak Harbor Golf Club is one of the area's most popular courses. The course is a challenging test without being too intimidating for beginners. It offers risk-reward holes that will appeal to low and high handicappers alike. Lee Schmidt, who worked closely with Pete Dye, designed the golf course, and incorporated many of Dye's signature features into the design. Sculpted mounding and native grasses frame the generous landing areas and you'll even find Dye's trademark railroad ties framing the greens. There are also several lakes that come into play throughout. Oak Harbor Golf Club's seventh and 15th holes are particularly notable for their intimidating tee shots over water. If you strategize carefully, the four par 5s provide some birdie opportunities but you'll have to carefully navigate through a combination of water, traps, and undulations.

Decent for the price
Course was under some rough conditions but greens were decent. Not bad for a time out. Was sent out behind a tournament that was extremely slow. Kept going back a hole and replaying. Will play again.
Played after a Louisiana monsoon
it is very possible the course is better maintained in fair weather conditions. The fairways and tee boxes weren't great by any means. Sand traps did not look maintained. That all being said the greens were surprisingly very well kept. No cart girls. So I am sure you can BYOB. Very challenging design. Seems like water hazards on every hole.

Fairways were full of weeds.
Greens were in decent shape.
Probably won’t play here until the improve course conditions.
Greens were in good shape. Fairways were good except for all the holes in the fairways. If they would do something about the holes it would be a good course. The rough could be cut more often. It has some problems but for the price it’s a great deal. The guys that work there are always friendly.
Great improvements to this golf course
I stayed away from this golf course for a long time because of course conditions, but they’ve really made some improvements to the greens, fairways and bunkering over the past few years. I always enjoy playing at oak harbor!
This Course needs new carts
Got a great deal today. However they tried to charge me the full $52.00 until I told them I paid online. For $52.00 I would expect carts with GPS and Coolers. It was very hot 108 with the heat index. Cooler with Ice would have been welcomed.
The course does need some work. Several of the fairways have sink holes. Lost 2 balls that landed in the middle of the fairway.
Not so great
The course drained very well being it stormed the day before. But the rough had not been cut in at least week, The greens were overgrown, and the tee boxes weren’t that great either. Members at this course have the worst etiquette. They cut in front of a couple groups at the turn and slowed the pace of play by 20 minutes which was playing slow as it was.
Not enough bang for your buck!
Unless you find a cheap hot deal I would not recommend this course. If anything Joseph Bartholomew is about 30 minutes away half the price and is better kept in my opinion.
