Point O Woods Golf & Country Club, with facilities for golf, tennis, and swimming, has deservedly gained a reputation as one of the premier private clubs in the nation. The championship 18-hole layout was designed in 1958 by the noted golf course architect, Robert Trent Jones. Jones has called the Point "perhaps my best American course," and countless golfers agree. In fact, the Point began hosting the prestigious Western Amateur Golf Championship, one of the country's oldest and most distinguished golf tournaments, in 1971. Well-known pros who competed at Point O Woods still call it one of their favorite courses.

It's an understatement to say we're proud of our fully mature Robert Trent Jones designed golf course. Understated, in fact, is the very essence of this, our gem; one of the consummate tests of golf in the Midwest. Point O Woods has withstood, if not transcended, the rigorous test of time. Each year we host one of the most demanding championships in amateur golf: The Western Amateur. For 29 years, Point O Woods has welcomed and challenged the world's finest amateur competitors to this tournament with its grueling 144 holes contested over five days format.

Nothing quite validates a championship golf course like the continuous scrutiny of world class competition. With both its vulnerabilities and subtleties laid bare year after year by the spotlight inherent in hosting an international competition, the champions it has returned, and attention from the press, Point O Woods continues to shine. The Editors of Golf Magazine have consistently chosen Point O Woods as one of the Top 100 golf courses in America for the past twenty-five years.

Here in Southwestern Michigan, Jones combined the best of his trademark features including long narrow tees, deep bunkers, and sprawling greens. He must have had a special place in his heart for this majestic property; it lies unassumingly and harmoniously upon it. The members of The Point are the beneficiaries of his vision. We are the cautious custodians and the passionate stewards of this magnificent golf course.

Ladies, come out and enjoy the fun, the people, And at the same time, watch the beautiful landscaping change daily with the seasons. It only takes one Tuesday of each week and everyone that's a member should take some time off their hectic schedules and enjoy our club, the Point.
