Eagle Springs Golf Course (formerly known as DeFuniak Springs Country Club) is Walton County's oldest course and one of the panhandle area's most challenging. The golf course sprawls across rolling hills covered with pine forests and five spring-fed lakes, both of which come into play throughout the course. Sandy scrub brush and colorful flowering bushes accent the landscape even further. The towering trees lining the tight fairways are just some of the many challenging natural hazards. There are also 23 strategically placed sand traps throughout. The small, elevated greens are pitched and undulated in such a manner that would make even the best putters nervous. The rolling elevations also provide picturesque views from nearly every point on golf course. Eagle Springs Golf Course requires accuracy and careful course management, but the layout is still surprisingly accessible for a range of skill levels. As part of recent initiatives and upgrades to the property and management, kids under 15 play free.

OMG

Cow pastures are greener and better kept.

We had a tee time but I guess the 20 man group at the tee box didn’t notice.
this is a total joke and should be condemned
If there was a minus rating this one would qualify.

Worst ever

The is the worst golf course I have ever tried to play in over 50 years. The first cart we got didn't make it to the parking lot. You couldn't tell where the fairways went and they looked like cow pastures. The greens were hard and brown and bumpy. On the second hole (11th) I lost my ball and my shoes in ankle-deep mud just two feet in FRONT of the green. On the third hole (12th) there was only one tee pin and it was impossible to tell where the green was. Meanwhile, golf carts kept passing us in both directions. We gave up and left to find a real golf course.

This course is so bad, we gave up after three holes. Even at $10, it isn't worth it.

Worst course I've ever set foot on, would not consider it a golf course.

Would not play this course for free! The so called greens are not as good as most fairways on other golf courses. it looks like they cut the course with a bush-hog. Do not waste your money on this course. The staff was very friendly, but it doesn't even come close to compensating for the course condition.

Low Cost Practice Course

Played this course on a promotional code so only cost $6. It was definitely worth that. Book a hot deal tee time and it's a good little practice course, keep your expectations low and have a good time. Not crowded and friendly staff. I wouldn't play here for $25 regular rate but the golf now value tee time is worth it. You can tell they don't have the money to heavily invest in the greens improvement, but great challenging layout to practice and fine tune your game.

Tough par 3s and a lot off blind shots.

Typical winter golf, cold and windy. Nothing overseeded. Small greens, not for beginners.

Value for the fee paid

The course is good value for the money on a golf now $10-$15 fee for 18 and cart. However it is not a well taken care of course so understand that you get what you pay for on this course. Excellent staff and the time to play was 3.25 hours.
We went to this course to give my wife the chance to get back into the game and practice in a live situation on a course where she would not feel rushed or hurried.

very challenging greens

This course is in generally below average condition with no green grass showing anywhere and a very dry fast condition. The greens are very tough with mostly sloping surfaces and very fast as they are dry and brown. For the price it was enjoyable but wish it was warmer.
